Today we celebrate the most adorable little birthday girl, Ellie! What better way to celebrate than with a super fun cake smash session? Ellie took center stage in her parents lives this year and I’m sure she will be captivating audiences with that sweet smile and easy going personality for a long time to come. Her mama, Mariah, chose a pink and gold theme for her cake smash and brought the most adorable dress for her formal portraits. She loved showing off her newly developed skill of standing and even tried walking a few little steps without help! But mostly she enjoyed playing peekaboo with my camera.
After a few minutes of hamming it up for the camera, it was time to bring out the cake and get messy. As I set the cake up, mama and daddy changed her into her tutu and pearls, what every princess needs before they dive into their very first birthday cake! This adorable cake was provided by the very talented and super impressive young entrepreneur, Andrew of Andrew’s Artisan Cakes . The cake was perfect for the occasion and Ellie loved every bite! Finally, we finished the milestone session with a bubble bath. I can’t get enough of the pure joy on a baby’s face when they splash in the bubbles!

An all time favorite for cake smash sessions is a signature album to display at the birthday party. Family, friends, and party guests get to write love notes to the birthday girl with bits of advice and/or their hopes and dreams for her future. The album then turns into a priceless heirloom. What better way to preserve this special milestone than with her photos perfectly preserved along side notes from everyone who loves her dearly.
