Sweet Charlize came to visit me just before Christmas. What a special gift it was to meet her and her family! As we began getting her ready for her first pose, Angelica, her mama, described just how special she is to their family. They had waited an agonizing three years for her. Then finally, on Easter Sunday they found out that she would soon be joining their family!
They were so excited and thankful for this blessing that God brought to their family. To say she has Daddy wrapped around her finger is an understatement. He is clearly smitten with her and thrilled to be her daddy! Big brother, Kobe marvels at how tiny and fragile she is. They found out she was a girl at an ultrasound on his 17th birthday. Despite the age difference, Kobe is excited to have a baby sister and is ready to protect her from anything life may bring her way. What a lucky little girl!
Charlize was nice and sleepy when she arrived because mama made sure to follow the prep guide to a T. She had a full belly, was freshly bathed, and had been awake for a few hours prior so she was ready to sleep once she arrived! Angelica was a little nervous going into the session, like any protective new mama would be. She said, “I was anxious at first because of how fragile my little newborn would be. I was worried with how Ashley would handle my newborn and how she would respond if my baby got fussy. But she was so amazing with Charlize from the start. I immediately trusted her the minute she talked to my little one with her soothing voice.”
We were able to get a good variety of poses including some with the special props they brought from home. Daddy loves the San Francisco 49ers, so he wanted at least one with his jersey and miniature helmet. I was able to find a headband that worked perfectly with the colors of the jersey and helmet because we had to add some femininity in with the sporty theme. I love how it turned out! We also did one with some other special items – a large snoopy and some Yeezy Boost shoes because these were daddy’s first gifts to the baby. You can see how happy she is to already be getting gifts! This Snoopy is going to be so fun to use in her milestone portraits in the future because it will show just how big she is getting in comparison! I hope she lets us use it in her senior portraits in 17 years. 😉 Yoda and Darth Vader made a special appearance also because she was born the day before the latest Star Wars movie was released. Clint joked that he had to miss the opening day because he was at the hospital for her birth. But we all know that there is no place he’d rather be!
I am excited to deliver their premium leather bound album and gift print this evening. I know they are going to melt when they see it! Albums are quickly becoming an all time favorite product for me. I love that their family will have this keepsake to flip through and remember just how tiny and perfect she is. See more of her photos and flip through her custom album here.
Angelica leaves this advice for anyone considering hiring a newborn photographer in Cypress, “First advice, book a session with Ashley Yates! Follow her prep guide and get ready to spend at least $1000 (which is priceless). I would definitely recommend her and looking forward to our future session. The studio was built well for the newborn photography session, it had a comfortable sitting area, and I liked how gentle and knowledgeable Ashley was with newborn photography. She made everything comfortable for us, even during the purchasing of items. She didn’t rush or pressure us into spending more than we can afford.”
